About Pokémon Legends: Arceus NSP
Legends of Pokémon: Z-A is an action-adventure game. While you don’t fully control your Pokémon’s movements, it follows you around the battlefield, and dodging and timing your attacks precisely will determine whether you survive or lose hit points. You’ll have to make many decisions, as some attacks have longer animations and preparation times than others, so using each attack repeatedly once it’s ready isn’t always the best option. In the second part of my demo, I had to chase a Zygarde in dog form. I found this part a bit repetitive and tedious, and it was here that I first noticed the minor issue with background loading.
Highlights:
When one of my teammates, the lovely Lida, suggested I try it, I immediately agreed. The tight corners of the city streets make it easy to be surprised, but they also offer opportunities to duck and ambush your target. The battles start smoothly, just like in Legends: Arceus, but Legends: Z-A offers a slightly modified version of the turn-based combat mechanics we’re all used to. Instead, Z-A delivers real-time action. At least, that’s how it’s presented. Exploring the menus was helpful, but the quest for that wild place felt strangely disjointed.
