Super Mario Galaxy 2 is an action-adventure game published by Nintendo Roms that gives a new home and a new lease on life to the beloved space-platforming duo. Since Galaxy 2 wasn’t included in previous re-releases, many fans were even more excited for this launch. Nintendo improved the interface, added more controls, introduced new Story Book pages (especially for Rosalina), added amiibo support, and improved the resolution (1080p on Switch and up to 4K on Switch 2 via an update), making the Switch versions more polished.

Gameplay:

The gameplay and level design are the strongest points of this game. As one of the best 3D Mario platformers ever made, Super Mario Galaxy impressed everyone from the start with its unique gravity mechanics, planetary levels, and creative puzzles. With more power-ups, Yoshi’s move, more complex platforming, and a greater variety of galaxies (almost 50 compared to Galaxy 1’s roughly 40), Galaxy 2 takes the formula a step further. The challenge increases satisfyingly, with plenty of secret passages and kite-shaped coins encouraging exploration.
